Some readers may remember me from a few months ago. I use to write snippets of stories and share writerly wisdom. However over the past few months, indeed over the past year, my life has been turned upside down.
I had shared that I moved across the country in December 2012 but what I did not mention on this blog was the life-changing event that occurred after that move. You see, my SO was diagnosed with rare and fatal bone marrow disease. This required me to take months off from working to be his caregiver while waiting for a transplant and for a few months after.
I’m not using this as an excuse because there were several months during this time when I wrote almost every day. However, a few months ago in September 2013, we started to get our lives back in order. For me this was a very stressful time and my writing suffered greatly from it.
I’m slowly getting back into writing which is refreshing. I have new wisdom to share, particularly about how stress has negatively affected my writing and how I overcame that.
I won’t guarantee that I will post every day or even every week. I will try to post once a month though every post above that should be considered a bonus.
I’m sorry to hear about your family situation. It’s completely understandable that you had to take a break. Hope things continue to turn around for you.
